About Albion
With a strong and reliable manufacturing culture, we pride ourselves on being an effective design, development and garment production partner.
Albion was established in Belfast in 1896, founded by two partners, Jack Fetherston and Ted Sharman. Our original factory was followed by another state of the art building in Leeds, England in 1907.
The company grew from strength to strength, eventually operating 17 manufacturing units in Northern Ireland and Yorkshire, employing over 2000 people.
Although the demise of the UK clothing industry in the 1970’s saw the gradual closure of many UK factories, Albion responded to the increased pressure from overseas imports by establishing a successful offshore production division.
Our global manufacturing connections continue to be the backbone of the business as it is today.
